Airfield history The Tallhed Airfield was constructed during 1940-1943 by the Royal Swedish Airforce. It was used as a temporary war base and was in use also after the war. It was used as a commercial airfield until 1979 when the commercial air-traffic moved to the Mora-Siljan airfield. The airfield still today has buildings since the time it was an airforce base, so it is actually a living museum!
